Johnnie grew up in the fertile farmland of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was born partially blind, and had completely lost his sight by the time he was 22 years old. But Johnnie didn't give up on life. He learned to make brooms and assemble and repair farm equipment. He mingled with the community from behind the counter of the store he and his brother built. Determined, cheerful, and content with the plan God had for him- that was Blind Johnnie Wenger.
