Joanna is struggling to adjust to her family's new Kentucky home. It's too small, lacks running water, and has an outhouse instead of a bathroom. The neighbors near them live in tiny houses, and floods and wildfires threaten the community. Worse than that, there is strife, gambling, drinking, and murder that goes on all around them.
Whenever Joanna feels discouraged or discontent, she reminds herself of why they moved. God had called them to tell these people about Jesus and the true peace and joy that only He can provide.
Based on actual experiences of a family who served in the 1950s at a little mission church in Kentucky.
