Gary hopes to finally find out why his limb was amputated as a child. He sets out with his brothers to find the missing surgeon who performed the operation. They try to practice longsuffering as they search the Hobo Jungle for clues. With the help of two hobos and a red handkerchief, they begin to untangle the trail left by Dr. Jefferson. However, the boys find themselves in a predicament. Will they be accused of kidnaping? Or will they die of thirst first? Can they be longsuffering even then?
