Walter and Edith Newswanger had a vision for their family: to be useful in the Kingdom of God by living a missionary lifestyle. They chose to live for God and serve others rather than live lives centered on themselves. Their lives built up their children, community, and church and blessed all those around them. Their vision led them from Lancaster County, PA, to live in Berks County, and eventually to Danville in Northumberland County. They were involved in numerous congregations and outreach efforts by the Mennonites in these communities. Walter was ordained as a Mennonite minister in 1967, and was involved in the creation of the Numidia Mennonite Bible School and the Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonite Church. This inspiring story of their spiritual journey from childhood through death, written by their son-in-law, is intended to spark the same vision in your heart to live passionately for God.
