The Desert Tortoise, native to the deserts of the United States and Mexico, can grow to be over 80 years old. They spend most of their time in burrows in order to survive the harsh climate of its natural habitat. This tortoise is hand-painted with scientific accuracy. It is posed as if it is in the middle of one of its leisurely treks.
