Down But Not Out! by Matt Snader Book 13 covers the years 2021 to 2024 in the Snader family's life. There were many changes in these years. The book starts out with Matt catching their largest halibut, a 185 pounder from the Barren Islands. It also covers (just one chapter) of the boating accident in Prince William Sound. Shortly after the boat sinks, Matt's new truck is wrecked on the Alcan Highway. The aftermath of the boat incident is also covered, which involved recovering the boat, repairing it, and eventually putting it back on the water. Matt then sells the old boat (he had agreed to sell it before it sank in the first place) and accepts delivery of the new boat. There are several trips to Kodiak Island via the new boat, but there is also much more than just boat stories. Shane and Marlene go skydiving in Arizona, and while there, scorpions infest the property. The Snader's 9th child, Hannah, is born in this book. Kallia flips Matt's Jeep in the driveway, of all places.
Matt and Marlene, along with the rest of the family, sneak into Pinecraft Florida, to see if Marlene's parents (John and Mary Martin) will recognize them, dressed as Amish. The results are quite amusing. Shane gets married to Hope Troyer, and the book concludes with Matt and Marlene becoming grandparents! An interesting read for the whole family, although Marlene (Matt's wife) says there is too much about boating and fishing in the book. Sorry about that.
