This adorable Giraffe Baby is hand painted with realistic details, including the distinctive fur color pattern and skin-covered knobs on the top of its head called "ossicones." Giraffes have very few predators, but baby giraffes are still dependent on their mothers for protection. Female giraffes will form something called a "nursery herd," surrounding the young as they move from place to place. They have also been known to babysit the calves of others in the herd.
