I have a dress made from Tropical Breeze which I really enjoy, and I have other Tropical Breeze fabric waiting to be made into a dress. I am coming from a background of wearing mostly cotton, and have had several jumpers and skirts made of twill, which have given me many years of good heavy use. I now want to make to cape dresses of twill, and was very glad to find that Tropical Breeze also makes twill fabric!
I ordered two colors of this twill from Goods, and I was shocked when it arrived. When something is called a twill, it is normally a different type of weave, heavier and similar to a lightweight - medium weight denim. This “twill” is extremely thin, very lightweight, and nothing like any other twill I have ever seen in a fabric store in my 50+ years. The color is a good match for what I see online, but I would recommend that if you are expecting your twill to be anything near what you find in fabric stores, which is a medium to heavy weight denim type fabric, you should order from somewhere else. If you want a very thin lightweight Tropical Breeze solid fabric with a slightly diagonal weave pattern, this might be the fabric for you. It is a good weight to wear in the summertime.
Purchased to male a religious cape and this is the perfect weight fabric!
The fabric was more "lightweight " than I thought it would be ..but the quality was excellent and I was very satisfied
